Is Greenland merely 'associated,' with Europe or is it actually an extension European province Denmark?
Greenland is actually on the same tectonic plate as North America so technically it is part of North America. The first people to inhabit it were native american peoples. Later the Vikings discovered it and settled it. Eventually they abandoned it and the Inuit took over. Later Denmark decided to recolonize it and so Greenland is now a part of the Kingdom of Denmark and its head of state is the queen of Denmark. Now about 88% of the people are Inuit or mixed Danish and Inuit and the rest are Danish. Technically they are citizens of Denmark, but they have an identity that is all their own.
