What makes someone's taste in music weird?

I'm just wondering, because I've been told a few times that my taste in music is weird. xD I listen to some mainstream stuff, but more often than not, I listen to a lot of stuff from Kanon Wakeshima, Miyavi, An Cafe, Psycho le Cemu, Ayumi Hamasaki, Hitomi... A lot of Japanese music, basically. I also really like some anime opening/closing themes and some stuff from video games. I'm also a fan Blood Stain Child (a trance metal band) and Amon Amarth (viking metal).... And I also love Within Temptation, too. I also really like trance music, classical, alternative rock, and 80's music, as well. I have a lot of these types of songs on my ipod and in my music library, and just about every time I play it and there's people around, people tend to comment on at least one of the songs that happen to be playing, saying it sounds weird. I don't really hear how they're so odd sounding. To me, they sound awesome. xD
