Should public funds be used to build stadiums?

Well, the logic is that if you have a good stadium, that will attract tourists and other people to the city, resulting in extra tax revenue and more jobs. While that argument makes some sense, I would want to see the numbers and make sure that the extra tax revenue is actually going to pay for the stadium.
